Helmut Meijer is an award-winning South African music producer, composer, singer, songwriter, and scholar and teacher of the Ancient Hebrew Language. He recently added ‘author’ to this list after releasing his first book Fractal – A Tale of Three Interventions. Apart from the book, he also released his latest single called Sink.
FRACTAL – A Tale of Three Interventions
The book takes an autobiographic tone telling of Helmut’s various travels and personal journeys that led up to him having three heart-related surgeries in the short span of four years. His anecdotes are often paralleled with explanations of the Ancient Hebrew language, which is another passion of his. The book shares a message of hope and encourages the reader to get up again, no matter how many times you face difficulties.
Sink
Sink is about tough times and how it can overwhelm you. It is quite apt for the current times with many people feeling overwhelmed by what life is throwing at them. The catchy song has a synth-pop feel, reminiscent of the likes of A-ha and Duran Duran. Helmut wrote, produced and mastered the song and you can hear his love of 80s music as mentioned in the book as well.
