Cape Town metal duo Havenless (previously Hollowing) released the first single, “Stardust”, from their upcoming album. The band consists of Johan Swanepoel (music production/mixing) and Matthew Wallander (vocals/lyrics).
The song is made up of melodic metal guitar riffs carried by fast-paced drum patterns and atmospheric sounds in the background. These elements are all complemented by Matthew’s guttural vocals.
“Stardust”, along with the other songs on the upcoming album, were recorded at Johan’s home studio. The album will be a mixture of songs from their previous EP (as Hollowing) and newly written ones. According to Johan, the lyrics explore general themes such as personal struggles, mental health, and even some fantasy inspired elements. Have a listen to “Stardust” and let us know what you think.
