Team is the first album by Pretoria-based band All Hands. The debut album takes the form of a 6-track EP which was recorded during the early months of South Africa’s 2020 lockdown period.
The EP starts off with a sense of tension that is quickly resolved within the first track. This is followed by the slower, emotional Daniel. The EP picks up pace again from I Hope We Win onwards.
Overall, the EP has a raw indie rock sound without any unnecessary trimmings that could have been added during the production process. Lead singer Daniel’s gruff vocals complement this sound throughout. Some of the songs also include the odd group vocals that could likely invoke fan participation at live performances. These elements give you a peek into the raw, powerful sound you could expect at a live performance.
