Ek het opgestaan is the third studio album by South African singer Rinél Day.
The album consists of a balance of Afrikaans and English songs that blend a pop sound with country elements. Most of the songs are upbeat and you can imagine putting the album on in the background at a “braai” or cranking it over the PA system at a “sokkie” (COVID-permitting).
The album also has a serious side to it with songs such as Ek het opgestaan and Gyselaar referencing tough times that Rinél went through and how she overcame it to reach the positive space she’s in now.
With the launch of this album she celebrates 10 years in the music industry which is quite apt as it goes with the themes of hope and celebration that she brought out in the album.
